Tools 4 Teaching

The Tools 4 Teaching program

Tools 4 Teaching exists for one reason- to help teachers in our local classrooms.

Created in early 2009, Tools 4 Teaching takes supplies no longer needed by local businesses and organizations and transforms them into classroom learning materials.

Tools 4 Teaching Volunteers Operate the Store

Current examples include outdated letterhead, three ring binders, annual calendars, and custom-imprinted promotional items including pens, pencils, and water bottles.

Tools 4 Teaching depends 100 percent on volunteers to operate the store. Currently teachers, community volunteers, retirees and even students provide hours of assistance to teachers with their shopping.

Tools 4 Teaching is open to all full-time Marion County teachers

Tools 4 Teaching, located inside the Public Education Foundation of Marion County in Northwest Ocala, is open to all full-time teachers working for Marion County Public Schools.

Teachers can shop once a month for needed classroom supplies– everything from pencils, paper and party supplies to crayons books and backpacks and more.

Tools 4 Teaching has everything from backpacks to pencils

This past school year the store had over 2,100 teacher visits and distributed thousands of dollars worth of materials to Marion County teachers.

For volunteer or donation information please contact the foundation at 671-4167.
