Educational Programs
The Public Education Foundation of Marion County participates in and provides a variety of educational programs.
Golden Apple Teacher Recognition

The Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program, developed in 1991, honors and rewards excellence in teaching. Each school selects their teacher of the year, who then participates in the selection process.
Take Stock in Children
Take Stock in Children assists deserving low-income children in Marion County by offering them a challenge: if they agree to keep up their grades, work hard, and play by the rules, their community will provide a scholarship to college, a mentor to help them stay on track, and hope for the future.
Tools 4 Teaching

Tools 4 Teaching exists for one reason- to help teachers in our local classrooms.
Created in early 2009, Tools 4 Teaching takes supplies no longer needed by local businesses and organizations and transforms them into classroom learning materials.
Grants for Great Ideas
Since its beginning in 1987, the Public Education Foundation’s Grants for Great Ideas program has awarded more than 745 grants to teachers and principals in support of teaching innovation, impacting more than 100,000 students.
Other Public Education Foundation Programs
